It’s not all dribble, good soccer players use their head - Bolaji (1986)
Effective power kicks as with goal kicks, corner kicks, and free kicks benefit from proper approach and planting before the kick.
The "planting" of the non-kicking foot is critical for a powerful well directed kick. The non-kicking foot lands next to the ball, pointing in the target's general direction.
These are the essence of the game of soccer.
It breaks my heart when I watch a full team of 11 young players WITH subs get their rear-end kicked all over the field and picked apart by a team of only seven or eight players. Why/How does this happen?
The game of soccer is all about maintaining possession of the ball. Your receiving and passing should be such that you should not easily lose possession, and when you do lose the ball, win it back ASAP!
All parts of your body should be able to receive the ball without undue rebound. Start off by perfecting both receiving and passing with the inside of the foot. Hard shots (on goal) are best with the laced part of the foot.
Falling Right
Time and time again, players fall even when they do everything right. Falling the right way helps to limit the amount of bodily harm suffered by a player in the event of a fall.
When you lose your balance (from a push or stumble), do NOT fight your fall. Let yourself go in the direction of your motion as you ball yourself up. Roll up as you go down, tucking your shoulder in; your momentum rolls you and you pick yourself up all in a natural sequence.
