Bolaji Honored - June 11, 2005
I've been privileged since 1997 or 1998 to offer my pennyworth to any appreciative ear around the Pasadena, California soccer community to play the game the way I consider better - clean and efficient receiving and distribution of the ball - a style that harbors no room for selfish, injury-prone play.
In 2000, this effort was formalized in support of the Adult Soccer League and Women's Soccer Organization of San Gabriel Valley. A practice session has held judiciously every week since.
It was a pleasant surprise when, thinking I was out for an evening of hanging out with a few of the participants in the program, I got to Charlie's Billiards in Glendale to a packed house. Thanks, guys. As I said in my appreciation distribution, "That my children got to witness the event fully compensates for the time and energy devoted to the project."
